Crossbelt Sorter

The CROSSBELT SORTER is a carrier belt based sortation system that is developed for sorting a wide range of products from clothing, multimedia, pharmaceutical, postal packages to fresh foods (even cartons with eggs) and fragile or bottled products. Goods are placed on carrier belts that are situated rectangular on the moving direction of the sorter. At the right destination the belt turns left or right and the product is discharged to the right destination. The carrier belts are driven mechanically.

Goods can be inducted on the carriers manually or via a semi automated induction belt. The Crossbelt Sorter is available in a horizontal or vertical variant and can have an oval shape, a U-shape or a line shape. Depending on the available space, requested number of destinations, etc an optimal layout can be decided on. The Crossbelt Sorter has a modular design and is build from standard sections.

Horizontal sorters are characterized by their flexible shape. The horizontal sorter can have curves to the left and right and can incline and decline. Vertical sorters have a very space-efficient and compact design. Carriers are transported on top of the sorter while sorting goods and return upside down round the bottom of the sorter.

Equinox MHE integrates the Crossbelt Sorter from Interroll. The power of the Interroll Crossbelt Sorter lies in its simple design with mechanically driven cross belts. This makes it a robust system that is easy maintainable.

The Crossbelt Sorter will be controlled by Equinox software. The control principle is very similar to our other sorting machines.
